Micah Rondilla is a professional hair and makeup artist from the Philippines. She is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Animation where she was nominated for best in thesis. It was always her dream to become an animator or a comic artist in Japan for the love of Japanese pop culture like anime and JPop which were eventually incorporated with some of Tim Burton’s work like his adaptation of Alice in Wonderland.

 

Micah began her character design journey during her career in animation, she would draw it on paper using different art materials from pencil, to charcoal, to paint such as water color, acrylic, and so on, she will then transfer it in a computer and make a 3D sculpture out of it but she felt something was missing and that she would rather create art that exists outside of a screen so she went into pastry design like sugar sculpture, cake designs, and plated desserts. She worked as a pastry chef in New York that provided her something that animation did not, which eventually led to her discovering makeup artistry because of the on going makeup trend that the US have. To her, the idea of creating a character that can move, breathe, speak, emote, and act sparks her passion for art and character design more than any other medium ever has. 

 

In 2016, She graduated HD Makeup Studio and Academy and was trained by a top graduate of Vidal Sassoon and Cinema Makeup School in LA. She started doing makeup services for Special Occasions, Advertising for Print, TV Commercials, and Bridal. Her makeup gig for Cole Haan, and local magazines such as Clavel Magazine and Scoutmagph made her realize that she needed to learn more so she went back to New York to take Master Makeup Program in Makeup Designory.
